ATP (available to promise)

Available-to-promise (ATP) is the quantity of a product that can be committed to new orders: on-hand inventory minus what is already committed, optionally extended by incoming supply. ATP is the number an accurate availability display or delivery promise is computed from, and it changes in real time as orders land. Order promising turns that number into a delivery date a shopper can trust.
