Pipe17 Raises the Bar on Enterprise Security with SSO and SOC 2 Type II Certification

Your order operations tech stack is growing. New sales channels, additional fulfillment partners, more systems connected to more systems. Add agentic commerce into the mix, where AI-driven workflows are autonomously managing orders, inventory, and fulfillment decisions across your network, and the surface area for security risk expands fast. The platforms at the center of those operations need to earn a higher level of trust.

Today, we’re announcing two major additions to Pipe17’s enterprise security posture:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): Enterprise-grade authentication that integrates with your existing Identity Provider, giving IT teams centralized control over user access.
  • SOC 2 Type II Certification: Independent, third-party verification that Pipe17’s security controls are operating effectively and consistently over time.

Together, these milestones give operations, IT, and security teams at both brands and fulfillment service companies the confidence to run Pipe17 at scale, today and as agentic commerce accelerates.

Why SSO Matters for Order Operations

Whether you’re a brand managing orders across DTC, B2B, marketplaces, retail, and agentic channels or a 3PL fulfilling millions of orders for hundreds of clients, Pipe17 is the operational layer that makes it all run. Every selling channel, fulfillment node, and back-office system connects through Pipe17. That means many users need access, and managing those users securely is critical.

With Pipe17’s SSO capabilities, enterprise customers can authenticate users through their existing Identity Provider (IdP). We support the protocols your IT teams already rely on, including SAML and OIDC (built on OAuth 2.0), with compatibility for major identity platforms like Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and others.

What That Means in Practice

Your IT team maintains full control over who can access Pipe17. When an employee leaves the company or changes roles, their access is revoked through your IdP, and it takes effect in Pipe17 immediately. There are no orphaned accounts and no separate passwords to manage. Pipe17 doesn’t store passwords for SSO-authenticated users at all.

Flexible by Design

SSO configuration is domain-based, which means your organization can run a mix of SSO and non-SSO users within the same Pipe17 account. That flexibility is important for brands working with external partners or agencies, and equally valuable for 3PLs onboarding client teams who may not share a corporate identity system. Roles and permissions inside Pipe17 remain fully configurable regardless of how a user authenticates. SSO changes how users get in the door; everything else about access control stays the same.

For operations teams, this eliminates the friction of yet another set of credentials. For IT and security teams, it means Pipe17 fits cleanly into your existing identity governance without workarounds or exceptions.

SOC 2 Type II: Verified Security You Can Count On

While SSO addresses how users access the platform, SOC 2 Type II certification speaks to how Pipe17 protects data and maintains operational integrity across the board.

SOC 2 Type II is widely recognized as the gold standard for evaluating a SaaS provider’s security controls. Unlike Type I, which evaluates controls at a single point in time, Type II examines whether those controls are operating effectively over an extended audit period. It’s the difference between saying “we have security policies” and proving “our security policies work, consistently, over time.”

What the Certification Covers

Pipe17’s SOC 2 Type II report covers the Trust Services Criteria for:

  • Security: Controls protecting against unauthorized access to systems and data.
  • Availability: Controls ensuring the platform is operational and accessible as committed.
  • Confidentiality: Controls safeguarding sensitive information throughout its lifecycle.

The audit was conducted by an independent third-party firm and confirms that Pipe17 maintains the controls enterprise customers expect when trusting a platform with their order data, inventory positions, product catalog, and fulfillment operations.

For brands running sensitive B2B and retail order flows, and for 3PLs handling data across hundreds of merchant accounts, this certification provides a verified baseline of trust. Your infosec team can request our SOC 2 Type II report, and the findings speak for themselves. No lengthy security questionnaires required to get started.

Enterprise-Ready Order Operations, Built for What’s Next

These announcements are part of a broader commitment to making Pipe17’s Order Operations Platform enterprise-ready at every layer.

Brands are selling on more channels, fulfilling through more partners, and processing higher order volumes than ever. 3PLs are scaling to serve more clients across more geographies with increasingly complex SLAs. And as agentic commerce moves from concept to production, the number of systems, connections, and autonomous decisions flowing through your operations stack is only going to grow.

The platform managing those operations needs a security and compliance foundation that keeps pace. SSO reduces access management overhead and strengthens your security posture. SOC 2 Type II gives your compliance team a verified, auditable report they can use in their own assessments. Together, they make Pipe17 ready for the next phase of commerce, where speed, automation, and trust all need to operate at the same level.
